The battery in my FOB died this weekend. Lasted 3 years. Went out to do the Boom software update and it would not turn on kept asking for PIN. I replaced the battery and all good now. Might be a good time to think about it before the spring riding season.
I change em every year when the time "springs" ahead. I'd rather not have any drama on a trip - which is when Murphy's law would guarantee it to go bad - LOL
The battery in my #2 fob had to be changed out on Friday...the other went earlier this summer. I keep one in my summer jacket and the other in my winter jacket.
I carry spares on the bike also...
My dealer replaced mine for free, while they were doing some warranty work. In addition, I am a big fan of knowing the code, and actually remembering it.
I go until the battery dies which has been five years so far. Set my own code in 06 on the first bike with security (07 FXSTC).
Learned the method and used it many times. The code of course is the same on all of them and I can whip it in in about 10 seconds and away I go. easy peasy.
