I bought a 2015 street glide and it had led bulbs in the front turn signal and in the rear brake/turn signal. The front work fine, but the rear do not get any brighter when the brake is applied or the turn signal is turned on. Does anybody have any idea why?
They should be a dual contact LED,maybe it is just installed 180 deg out.I would start by sticking an original 1157 bulb in there to see if it works correctly.
Thanks for the reply dansflhti!!
I thought the same thing, but you can't install them the wrong direction, since they have tabs on the side of the barrels that are staggered and will only allow you to put them one way.
I tried the the 1157 incandescent bulb and they work fine.
Replace them with Custom Dynamics LEDs and solve your problems for good. I've found nothing better than Custom Dynamics as far as product quality, warranty and excellent customer service.
Thanks to everyone that responded and their advice. I bought 2 sets of Sylvania LED brand bulbs at the local parts store and changed out the front LED and the rear incandescent bulbs and everything is working as it should.
Soulpatch1 - I bought 2 pair of Sylvania 1157 and replaced the stock incandescent bulbs. They work great. Nice and bright. I hope these work for you too!!
excellent, appreciate it. Already ordered a run/turn/brake controller and installing a couple of those bulbs should really make the difference. I live in alabama now (moved from michigan). Thought going to a warm weather area where people ride virtually year around would make it a little easier. Unfortunately it's actually worse down here. So many cagers on cell phones it's pretty scary at times. Makes michigan look like riding in a dream (aside from the potholes lol). So doing everything I can to be seen.
