Still trying to figure out this ride, I own a 2016 Road Glide Ultra, the USB port in the right front compartment, will this play music from my phone??? I have a Note 8. I'm assuming I'll a adapter from the port to my phone, what do I ask for?? Thanks for the help. Feel free to email me at ff_heatseeker@hotmail.com

Just add a device bluetooth thru the radio, but yes it will play from the cord also. I don't have a NOTE 8 but I can't see it being much different than any other smart phone.

My 2016 Roadglide ultra will not play the music through the cord from my phone, a Samsung Galaxy 7. It does play it through Bluetooth , but only 1000 songs will load. I solved the problem by buying a cheap memory stick plugged right into the USB port and then all 5000 songs will play.

I plug my Iphone in through that usb and it charges my phone and I can play all the music on the phone on the stereo. But I just put it all on a usb stick, several thousand songs, and leave it plugged into the usb, and bluetooth my phone to the stereo (if I wanted to take a call). Either way (bluetooth or wired) will work for playing music though. On your stereos "home screen", go to "media" to find your music on your phone or usb stick. Also, when I first put the usb stick in with around 7500 songs, then turned bike's ignition switch to accessory and went to media on the Boom, it took it an hour and twenty minutes to stop saying "reading" on the top of the screen. I let it do it without interruption, because i believe, from what I have read, it is indexing the usb drive. It only does it again if I take the drive out for some reason and put it back in. Also my iPhone has just as much music on it, but I have never noticed it doing this "indexing".

The bog standard USB cable you use for charging and syncing your phone will plug in there.

The USB port will play music off of a USB thumb drive that you plug into the port.

Or, you can Bluetooth your phone directly to the Infotainment system, and then it will play music from the phone.

Is there something different about the OP's phone?

As mentioned, the iPhone will play music when plugged in.
I keep my iPod plugged in that compartment all the time, with all my music on it.

Could it be the tag info for the songs on your S5 isn't complete or in correct format? IDK, just thinking aloud.
