Default Painting over powder coating

Anyone repaint over powdercoat? I bought some gloss black flush gas gauge/caps and want to paint them Starlight Black when I do the rest of the bike. My CVO dash is chrome and want to gloss black it also so will have to powdercoat it. Then thinking painting it Starlight black to match the tank and other tins.

Are you doing the painting the bike yourself?

I don't have the answer, but I suspect it is doable, as powdercoat is basically another form of paint. I'm sure your paint jobber could supply the answer.

YMMV

I thought powder, while durable was softer then paint. If so, may not be the best surface for paint?

Powder just takes some extra prep work, finish is hard sand carefully you may have to use a more aggressive sand paper if you don't paint will peel

I had my tank and fenders powder coated, then later decided I wanted a different color. Simply scuff and paint, as you would any other painted surface. Powder makes for a better sealer/primer than products designed for this purpose.
