Still loving this bike

Wholeheartedly agree. I went and drooled over the 2017's with the new M8, then went and drooled over the new 17's when the 18's came out (I'm a chrome guy). But ironically, it's the thought of saying goodbye to my 2016 RGS that keeps me grounded. I LOVE this bike! Leaps and bounds more than any previous bike! And, I've finally gotten her pretty much just the way I like her, she doesn't transfer a drop of trans fluid, leaks zero oil, and purrs like a kitten. She's sexy as hell, and comfortable all day long. Why on earth would I want to get rid of her?

I'm not into the "high tech" stuff or a "fairing" guy. Have owned both a Bat Wing and a Shark in the past. That being said, I jumped on I-95 yesterday with my Road King and after a mile or two found myself thinking that nothing does the highway like a Road Glide. It just cuts through the wind and is not affected as much by cross winds and passing tractor trailer rigs. I don't normally do much interstate riding, so I'm happy with my old Road King.

Still on my 2014 Limited and have 34,000 on the clock, love this bike. It does everything I want but I too have drooled over the New colors, the twisted cherry, all blacked out, now thats bad right there. I'll have to stay with my 14 though, too many issue's with the M8's to get me too jump.
There's going to be a lot of dissapointed OP's I'm afraid when the Trans fluid exchange starts, most will put a few miles on with out issue but it can start at anytime and there's no fix to it. I know a guy that has a 2017 CVO Limited that HD is buying back over this, the HD engineer said there starting to see more and more of this after a few miles have been put on the bikes and guess what, they can't fix it. They've tried 3 times on the CVO to fix it but no avail, they don't know why it's doing it, so it's hard to fix something you don't understand. So with all that said my 2014 is looking good !!!!!!!!

But OTOH, as long as people are willing to pay top dollar to be beta-testers, then why should the MoCo waste the energy and money? They've been getting away with that BS since day one and folks just keep queuing up for first-year bikes that invariably have issues and design flaws, defects etc.
Took 'em four model-years to take care of the ultra-simple issue of the spark plug wire rubbing through on the gas tank, which was present on every Rushmore bike they rolled out and they even made sure to include it on the '17's. I wonder if they'll ever get truly serious the problems with the M8's worked out at all before "upgrading" to something else that's "new and better"?
At least they admitted that they're clueless and bought your friend's bike back.
Oh well...
