Default 2018 Naviextra Maps

Hi there,
Naviextras released their 2018 maps for our bikes. My bike gets this update annually. I updated without a problem. Until, I went to the nav database page and saw this! WTF! Anybody else do this/have this problem? I have an email into them now.

Thanks,
Tom

It’s been well documented just because it says 2018, 2017, 2016, etc., the “latest” update year is always a year or two ahead of the actual database year. You can thank Harley for going with a foreign, cheap vendor for the navigation on our expensive bikes.

that looks like the dealer update. (mine is 2017Q2)

I paid for the map update to update to 2017. problem is after the update, the map was a 2014 map (9-10-14). I did get my money back though.

I am referring to the 2018 map database I just bought. Not my dealer database.

Thanks,
Tom

I do this annually. Up until now, it always listed the year in which it was supposed to be. I understand the actual database is a year old. But, the version listed is current. With this version, the whole thing is hosed. It thinks it's current and updated. But, the version is listed as 2016. Unless, they fat fingered the version in the build. I'll find out

Thanks,
Tom

Good lord, I bought the map update a week ago. I actually called the "customer support" on the naviextras website which connects you to Harley customer service. I asked if the MY18 maps were due out soon, they said no. "I'd hate to buy these and have the new ones come out a week later" - they said new maps not close to being released.

Guess I have to call them again to see if I can get the MY18 maps.

I'll keep everybody posted on the progress. The version number states q2 2016 as you can see in the screenshot. They need to get that fixed.

I just checked Navieextras. Yes there is a new update for the North American maps for those who will pay $149.95 for the Premium Radio and $159.95 for those CVO owners that ran out of paid updates they received when purchasing their bikes. The information on the new disk probably is the second quarter of 2016 as mentioned in previous posts.

Last year's map was 2017. It listed as 2017 on the software version. Why would it say 2016 this year? Something does not align.

Because the information is through the 2nd quarter of 2016 or June 30, 2016. That is the unfortunate thing about Navieextras. They supply the map database of a number of the car manufactures too and they charge just as much. Now if only we could get Garmin map updates like you can for the stand alone navigation devices it would be great.
