Yes, I have comprehensive, but I'd rather not get the insurance company involved. Thanks for the suggestion, though. I'm going to let this play out and see what happens.

 

If you get some money for a repaint then why not get a custom paint
set from Harley? I think the cost of a repaint can be about the same.
Some of the numbered paintsets would look cool on your Bike.
Think about it.

Talk to them, just in case; they may cover it then sue the construction company themselves, and not ding your insurance with the claim. It's a free phone call... just a suggestion.

I agree. Also, comp. claims don't ding your insurance or affect your premiums, anyway. The insurance company would almost certainly get their money back from the contractor too.

 

What color is your bike? If it's a Tri-coat or has heavy flake, probably going to be hard to match, vivid black on the other hand, not as difficult.

 

It's charcoal pearl and brilliant silver pearl. The thing is with a total re-paint, I really don't want to have to remove all the tins to have that done. But, if they can't match the paint, I suppose that's what I'll have to do.

I'll call the insurance company today and see what they say.

It has nothing to do with calling or not calling the insurance company. I stated that I would prefer not to call them. I'm already dealing with flood and windstorm claims from Harvey on two structures, so I don't need the hassle of starting another insurance claim. I asked in my OP about paint, not about how or who should pay for it.
