Default Feels like "Grinding"?

2017 Ultra Limited w/ 5500 miles -

I'm getting a vibration of sorts - feels more like grinding - coming through the footboards. It seems to be worse at slower speeds- 70 mph+ I don't feel a thing. I'm not feeling anything coming up through the handlebars and I'm not hearing any kind of scraping noise. Everything's tight, fluids are new & levels are correct. Tire pressure is correct.

Possibly a bad wheel bearing? I'm going to put it up on the lift and see how the wheels spin.

Any other suggestions?

I'd probably check those piece of **** Chinese wheel bearings that came on it. If that turns out to be the problem, All ***** sells quality replacements that actually last and that's what's goin' in my '15 Limited's wheels at the first tire change, regardless of whether the OEM's are shot or not.

Good luck,

JP

Jpooch do you have the part numbers for the bearings front and rear? I also have some vibration on my 15 Ultra and my rear tire is cupped as well. I have a new set of tires waiting to be put on and planned on changing the bearings as well.

get it up in the air and give the back wheel a spin. trans main bearing or wheel bearings would be the first place i'd be looking. front wheel bearing ? look for something loose on the bike.

Same thing I felt when my front right bearing started breaking down. Replace the front set in pairs.

Sorry, no I don't have the PN's for those bearings. You can Google "All *****" and get to their web site. From there, it's easy. I think they have Ebay and Amazon stores too.

FWIW, I've yet to hear or read a complaint about their products, personnel or service. That's what has me sold.

I lifted the bike yesterday and the wheels felt solid with no side-to-side movement, but when I spun the front wheel, it seemed like the right rotor is warped. It would spin, making the normal rotor/pad noise, but then catch and slow down or stop.

That might be the problem.

Either way, I'm going to take it in and have it checked - whatever it is will be covered under warranty anyway.
