Default Phone mount.

looking for opinions. Tech mount or ram x mount. I'm a little scared of just having a spring hold my 600 dollar phone. Lol

Default the best

I have a 7" GPS in this with a ram mount arm and clamp held up about 7" off my right handle bar. The one I have is the bigger one of the two. There is no loosing the GPS. I also use an X grip on the same set up for the phone. Both work great http://www.hondogarage.com

I use the Ram X mount on a 1970 FLH, I would guess it will work just fine on your bike. Good luck.

I use the X mount, it has the spring and a rubber band that wraps around the 4 corners.

I've got much the same setup with a longer arm between the X-grip and the clamp. It has worked well for me even without a tether. I do have a somewhat grippy case on my phone. On the Harley I've only used it to run speedo correction and autotune for my FP3 but I ran it for many miles on my KLR, on and off road, and the phone never budged.

I used a Rokform for the trip to Sturgis. Held very tight, exceedingly easy to put the phone on or off the cradle. All in all, I highly recommend consideration.
