Seems to me you went thru a lot of work and money to fix such a small problem. I think if your loosing that much oil your case is overfilled.

This is what I did and cost me $0 just because I had some hose laying around, 30 min. job. Even with this I have no drips on the floor.

Seems like a lot of work to keep the oil going into the intake. Why didn't you extend the tubing and vent it elsewhere? I like that M8 "catch can" contraption...
