Default Handle bar swap question

I have a 2014 Ultra Limited. I want to do taller bars. Does anyone know if 12" bars will swap out with existing/stock cables and wiring?

Depends on which bar.
Depends on if the wires are inside or outside of bar.
Depends on how much you want to stretch the stock wires.

I went with Wild One WO578's which are more of a 10 inch bar and also wider than stock. I had no issues at all. As mentioned above it does depend on the bars as they are measured differently. On some 12 inch they will work with some re-routing of the cables and lines.

There are a lot of very good handle bar threads on here. Do a little searching.

If you search on YouTube there's plenty of good videos. In my opinion the wire extensions are not that costly and it's worth it.

I had 12.5" Wild1s - WO577s on my 2014 Ultra Limited and the brake and clutch cables only needed to be re-routed at the neck which was easy, but it needed the control wire extensions... 8 inch was fine.

12" Monkey Bars... I was able to use the factory hydraulic lines, but I extended the factory wiring. I didn't even try it without lengthening them. I may have been able to get away with it, but I wanted to maintain the factory routing and have plenty of slack for the point.

I installed these LA chopper 1 1/4 Twin Peaks Touring 12" bars for that same reason. I'll note that i used a NAMZ 8" plug in extension.

I also installed 12" LA Choppers bars. No issues with the hydraulic lines, but I did add the wire extensions. Again, the YouTube videos really can come in handy.

So i recently installed the WO578's and my Namz wiring extensions where on back order. I was able to disconnect the right and left hand control wires from under the radio and pull back to the bars and had just enough room.

If i were to do it again i would have waited on the extensions.

If you decide not to go with the extension leave the wires connected until you pop them off under the radio. It will make it much easier pulling back to the bars.
