Is there a software update for the Nav system?
Rarely do I use my Nav, went on a road trip and uploaded a route via HD Ride trip planner. During the ride I encountered this "Warning - The calculated route contains areas where guidance is incomplete. Caution is advised."
On the return route I did it differently. Just typed my home address and let it route me home. Same message pops up.
Is there a fix w/o going to the dealer?
Anybody else experience this??? Help Please!!!!!

There is a new version of the map database that can be purchased here:

I've gotten that same message before. Ride Planner uses the latest maps and your (and my) units have older ones. I've never had a serious issue because of it. I did have to do some creative detouring once to get around an area that had a bridge removed and the roads rerouted. Until it becomes a real issue for me I plan to keep the $150 bucks in my wallet and use a little "dead reckoning" to get around the changes.

Common
I have gotten that numerous times while riding the backroads, don't think there is much you can do about it. I bet that even if you bought the unrealistically expensive update to the maps you will get the exact same thing in that area unless they truly are recently built roads. If you have looked over your map prior and know you are heading in the right direction just ignore it (I turn the volume all the way down) or turn it off for a while. I just figure I'm on roads fewer other people are going to use......

Yeah, I don't know how they get away with naming the update NA-MY2017 and it's from 2014. They are crooks! I'm glad you got your money back.

I paid for the update from the 2016 stock map... the map has picked up some known road changes, so for me it was worth it.
And yet, I have STILL gotten than message on a route. I didn't have any issues getting there, and I never saw where the map "let go", but I got the message anyway.
I will have to check when I get home, but pretty sure my 2017 update says NA-MY2016.

It's normal lol!!!
I am still running the original maps from the first year Rushmore factory install. I get that on most of the routes I run, but in the many 10's of 1000's of miles I have used it I have not had any issues as a result.
One thing I did learn early on though. If it says there is an unpaved road on the route, there really is!!! Sometimes it takes me an hour on Google Maps satellite view to find it, and it may be just a mile of dirt on a road that is paved on both sides of that mile, but by golly it will let you know.

Yep, I got suckered and bought the MY2017 aka 2014 update. $150 for really nothing that I can see. Roads paved in the last 5 years are still listed as dirt. The update is a ripoff and I wish I had filed for a return, pretty much too late now...I'd give it 0 out of 10. I was pretty disappointed...
Prolly should have known better with a shady (Naviextras) outfit from Romania. Fool me once, but NEVER again.
