So i ordered Paul yaffee 12 inch monkey bars for my 2017 RG, the dealer ship just told me the cables won't be in till august to put the bars on and they can't find them any where. Does anyone have 12 inch apes on their RG that can tell me what cables they are running and maybe i can find those before the end of summer so I can get my bars on.

 

Don't need new cables for 12" bars !

Yes i know it would have worked but i wanted all black cables to match and get rid of the 90 degree banjos on the cables. They had one there with chizel bars and i didnt like how it fit with the stock cables.

 

Did you look at magnum shielding

 

I believe that both them and burley brand where on back order. I'm going to call the dealership today when they open because i couldn't find a parts lists yesterday when i went through my paper work.

 

Have you tried LA Choppers for cables? If not, give them a call...

 

I ran into the same issue. Was gonna order a kit thru the dealership (buddy gets parts at cost) and they were on back-order. Went thru revzilla and ordered an LA chopper kit and received it in about 5 days. Id try to order straight thru LA choppers next time, cause revzilla places the order with them, then they ship to rev THEN you. So maybe you could cut the middle man out and save some time..

 

Update: the kit i had ordered was LA choppers, but i called yaffe directly and they had cables instock they had them within a week bikes goes in on the 6th to have them put on

 

I just sent my LA cable kit back.. It was total garbage... Hope you dont run into the same issues as me

 

I just installed apes on my RG ultra. You definitely do not need cable extenders. If you are talking about the hydraulic lines that run outside of the bars, you can change them out after the bars are installed. Road 6 customs has a great video on you tube showing how to change the bars.
