Default Shorter windshield

Looking for a slightly shorter windshield for my 2014 Limited. It came with the 10" windshield. Unfortunately the top of the shield lines up exactly with the road surface when riding. I can sit up a little straighter to look over the shield, or slouch to look through it, but neither is very comfortable for very long. It's very distracting especially on long rides, and makes it difficult to see potholes or other hazards on the road. Harley makes a 7" shield but that seems a little too low for touring. Has anybody found a 9" windshield that fits the Rushmore batwing?

I use the 7" on my 15' Limited without any issues and I travel the interstates frequently. I'm 6' at around 210 lbs. Or you could consider cutting your 10" windshield to a custom height.

Another option for attaining that factory edge again ...

Most hardware stores sell M.E.K. (methyl ethyl keytone) as a universal solvent. This stuff "Melts" plastic. Moisten a COTTON rag just big enough to wrap over your index finger. Get it very wet, but not dripping. With a steady motion, wipe the newly sanded edge in one smooth stroke.

If necessary , wait a few minutes and do it again. The plastic dries almost immediately.

There are a few windshield manufacturers out there that offer what you're asking. I use an LRS windshield on my trike. Good quality & low cost. Works for me.

Best quality I've found is Freedom Shields. Slightly thicker material, superbly finished, excellent optical clarity, can return for different size if required (test install & ride w/o removing protective film before deciding).

I have a couple long ride shields and a freedom shield.

Both are very good.

I had the same problem with my Limited. I went with an 8" Long Ride Shield and I'm very happy with it. Seems to provide better protection that the original HD windshield and much better visibility over the top of it.

While LRS shields are a bargain, there is no comparison between LRS (sorry LRS) and Freedom. Freedom shields, as a poster above mentioned, are night and day difference in quality and look. I was leery about spending the extra coin for a Freedom shield, but now that I've tried it out for a while, I'm sold.

I bought several different sizes to get proper fit from this guy on ebay. Come in three shades and multiple heights. Cheap and good quality.
