I really like my '14 Ultra Limited but I've always been a little bugged about the "plainness" of the transmission side cover. For the '17 model year they have the "six speed" insert on the cover. I decided to order the insert and put it on myself. Picture 1 is before and 2 is after. It was $17.16 with the tax. I actually ordered the wrong one. On the '17 Ultra Limited's it is actually the silvery/opaque with black lettering insert (Harley p/n 45800048). All other models have the black with silver lettering insert (p/n 45800049). I was going to send the black one back but decided I liked it better because it matches the tranny case.

Where did you order that, I don't see it online?

 

I asked the parts guy at my local dealership about it. He looked it up on the 2017 parts schematic.

 

Oops...wrong part numbers. Should be 25800048 for the silver one and 25800049 for the black one. Sorry about that!

Surdyke has them for $11.70. If one were getting some other stuff, it might be a good buy there.

If you have the parts guy at your shop look it up make sure he orders the one for a Street Glide. The one for the limited is silver. I put one on mine as well as the 17 horn cover last December.
