What result would I see if I replace my stock mufflers with Harley cvo screamin eagle exhaust mufflers
I'm looking for a little more sound from my stock 2014 Road King, but do not want a loud exhaust for long distance touring. I see ebay has several for sale almost all the time. so again, my question would be, would I have a slight improvement in performance and a better sound than a stock exhaust. tks

Very little actual performance gain, like as said, you aren't changing anything else. To "see" or feel performance gains, you have to take a 3 prong approach. You need to get more air in, more fuel, and more air out. Intake, tuner, exhaust, basic Stage 1. The most you will notice on just changing exhaust is sound, but not that much with what you are planning. You will still run lean, still have the lag in your throttle, and still breathing through a restricted intake.
If you look at CVO or stock mufflers, through the inlet, there is a ramp that takes exhaust "sound pulses" and throws them around and into the glass mat sound deadener surrounding the baffle, and into the perforated chambers, and finally to the outlet. I had V&H mufflers, loved the sound but they rusted and someone had CVO stock mufflers. I installed them. I enjoyed the quieter sound for a while but missed the Harley sound. I pulled the caps off, ground out the welds and took out the baffle. Unwrapped the sound deadener and discarded it. Maybe 1 db louder. Still not satisfied, I pulled them out again and cut them just after the ramp and reinstalled the end section, with the 2" hole. Now it sounds like a Harley again. Oh, and I have a Tmax with auto-tune so the tune takes care of itself.

I put stock CVO mufflers on mine when it was all stock. Biggest change was how they look. There's no noticeable performance change. The tone changes but they're not louder. But. You can put in fullsac baffles. That's what I ended up doing. 2" baffles with the steel wrap and I gutted my cat. Sounds great.

The CVO mufflers are louder and have a better tone than the stock mufflers, they get louder after break in. My bike runs great, love the sound, have been running these for over two years. I don't want anything else since they are a comfortable volume at highway speeds, comfortable like the rest of the bike.
You want noise, get something else.
