Deka makes the OEM battery for Harley, they are made in Pennsylvania. I bought a Deka for my '06 but only kept the bike for another year before getting the '14 but I have used Deka car batteries for years and never had a problem with them. When the time comes a Deka will go into my '14...

Taggs - I too have a 2014 - purchased in Sept 2013 - so, I am going on 3 1/2 years . Battery is still strong.
I go carry a jump kit -cost me around $60 for me or anyone else that may need a jump.
Also, my 2004 battery lasted until I traded it Sept 2010- so, that was 7 years. My 2011 was there when I traded it on my 2014.

I bought mine new in may 14. Traded a 07 softail with the original battery in it still cranking strong. Kind of a downer to think of changing out already on this one.

Sporster's along with any of Harley's bikes without a sound system/GPS have very little drain on the battery. So the battery will normally last a long time. But the 14-present FL's with Boombox have quite a draw from the battery.

2014 Road King just under 29,000 mi (no security or sound system) on tender most of the time. Have read about a few guys having trouble with this years batteries.
