Default 2015 Street Glide acting.....

......up.

My brother called me the other day asking me why his 2015 Street Glide would act like it was missing, idling rough and cutting out under power.

He said he stopped at Lowe's, got a battery for the FOB and all was OK.

Is he full of Baloney or does this happen when FOB battery is low???

I don't want him riding off on a trip and having another problem that he should address now............

Any time my fob battery was low I just had starting problems, but once it started all was fine. Something sounds strange.

I have a '16 FLHXS.
I started down to my mom's last week. Bike always stays in the downstairs, so it is warm enough.
Anyway, I looked at the speedo and in the display it reads; 'No FOB Present'
In a few secs, it went away.

Well, the FOB stays in the little bay where the USB dongle is.

I took the FOB out and put it in my shirt pocket inside my jacket to warm it.

Bike started and ran fine and I haven't seen the warning again........

The FOB has no affect on how the bike runs! Once the bike is started you can throw the FOB in the trash.

You don't even need the fob if you know your code.

Yep, there's posts here on the forum of guys arriving somewhere and realizing they don't have the FOB. Left it on the bench or had it in a different jacket pocket. It was close enough to allow them to start the bike and not think twice about it....until they were stranded because they didn't know their code procedure.

Also recently someone posted that their FOB fell out of their pocket when riding and didn't realize it until the next stop a long distance away. A Good Samaritan picked it up and posted it to Facebook. Guy was able to recover it that way a few days later.

So yep, FOB wouldn't be his issue.

Is the bike stock? does he have a power vision/FP3 or anything else hooked Up? More info needed....... like others have said the fob would have nothing to do with it......

A dying motorcycle battery, or loose battery cables, can cause all kinds of problems. I'd check the battery cables and have the battery tested. Also check plugs and wires.

Absolutely nothing to do with the FOB.

Once the security is disarmed by the FOB the bike will start and the FOB does nothing once that happens.
