Default Fr Brake light switch means whole new switchpack?!?

I noticed the other day that my brake lights were working intermittently when pulling in my front brake lever. Well completely forgot about it until this morning riding to work I noticed it again not working at all(Brake light still work from the rear brakes). So I assume the fr brake light switch is bad. No biggie, $20 part and some time and all will be fixed.

Boy was I surprised when I stopped by the dealer. Didn't realize when they redesigned the switch packs for the rushmores they integrated the brake switch into the right switch pack. Factory replacement for the right side only.... $215!!!! I can get the pair of lighted switches for $250... Wasn't expecting to pay $200+ to fix my brake lights....

Make sure that the brake handle clamps and switch housing are not excessivly spaced, and secured together, if not already done.

Yea, I pulled it apart last night. And it is just my luck the switch is going bad. Bought the lighted switch packs and it works like a charm now.. That was an expensive brake light switch... lol

I had my kill switch stop working after 1900 or so miles. Warranty covered the switch pack but it made me aware of how much they cost for future reference.
