Best bang for buck mufflers for a RK 2014?
Hi everyone.
I'm looking for an upgrade on my exhaust system, since I've bought a Fuelpak and I would like to take the most of that.
I'm not really interested in buying a full top notch exhaust system, I might only consider a pair of mufflers that could in some way increase the power of the RK.
So I'm asking if you guys know from your experience what options should I consider regarding this matter.
P.S.: sorry if the question is too vague and induces to several different opinions.

I think the best "bang for a buck" would be the used CVO mufflers. You can get a nice set for about $100 if you are patient. Take off the tips, grind out the 2 welds, take out the cores, buy a set of Fullsac cores for $120 or $100 for used and you have a good sound and inexpensive. I bought mine for $100 in new shape with chrome shields.

Being you are in Portugal, and shipping will cost you more, I say look locally first for just
slip-on mufflers. Also what smog & sound rules does Portugal have? What other modification
if any, have you done to the 2014 Road King? Does your Bike have a Catalytic Converter in
the header pipe or mufflers? These are just some of the things we need to know to give you
the best advice.
PS---I am half Portuguese myself.

I would buy the mufflers and ship them within the US. I would then sort myself a way of shipping them to Portugal.
We have smog and sound restrictions, but I also don't want a muffler that is too loud. There's no inspection made on the motorcycles (yet).
The bike has no modification yet, engine wise.
I don't know if it has a catalytic converter. However, it was a Road King that was imported from the USA, and it was sold in Denver the first time. So I don't know...

Like a Honda. I just put a set of 2016 CVO's on my '15 Street Glide. I can hear the air going into the intake more than the exhaust. Not that I want LOUD, but it after having V&H Short Shots, I'd prefer to be heard a little better.

I haven't put fulsac cores in yet. I an not sure I want to do that or go with aftermarket. I was giving advice on best bang for buck. You can get a set of mufflers like new for $220 that perform nearly as good as ones for $500.
BTW, when I was in the Navy we would go pick up planes in Lisbon where they would do the SLEP on the C-2's Nearly every time, we would fail to leave by 3 pm on Friday and the airfield would close so we would have to spend the entire weekend at the hotel across from the beach by the train that would take us into downtown where all the bars were. And one time one of the workers stenciled a panel with "this panel left intentionally blank" His buddies gave his all kinds of crap about that one.
