Default Glove Box / Media Box Won't Close

Anyone else have troubles with their rushmore street glide glove box? The latch seems to be sticking and won't "click" into place when I try closing the door.

This isn't a 100% failure - I can get it to work with some effort, but rather than nicely clicking open and closed, it sort of sticks and clunks. Pretty sure it's gonna randomly break on me soon. I tried spraying a bit of silicone lube in there, didn't do a damn thing.

I've got the same issue on my '16 Ultra Limited. I've also noticed that when it is latched, it doesn't take much effort to just pull it open instead of pushing on it to unlatch it.

I had to replace the latch itself on my vent. Both the vent and the media door use the same latch. Was surprised Harley made it a service-able part.

HUGE thank you for posting that! At least now I know i can order a part. I'll probably buy 3 of them, because I'm pretty sure I'll have to replace it every couple of years.

So how did you replace just pull it out with needle nose pliers and press the new one in? Nobody at the dealer has ever replace one.

Which one? The media door latch you can get to pretty easy. On the vent, I was doing a painted inner fairing swap and had everything apart.

The little latch itself pushes into a slot. It has two of those little compression clips on it so once you push it through the hole, they expand and hold the latch into the slot. You should be able to use a small screwdriver to compress the clips one at a time. At least that's how I did the one on the vent.
