I also had that problem at first. I played around with it and found if you put the bottom in first, at a slight angle and then push the top in, it goes into place perfectly and aligns itself.
I then pressed on it all around to make sure all the areas stuck.

Got it installed tonight. Bike is dirty but I cleaned the light area really good. I hope it holds up to the Phoenix heat. It's a little gaudy but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Can anyone provide a picture outside in daylight. Also can you step back away from the bike a bit to get an overall look.

Thanks

I took a few pics today. Looks better in the daylight and will look even better with chrome forks.

Thanks for the pics azgrumbles. Looks good on you bike. I've got the black quartz with a chrome front end and am thinking I may just do it. Seeing your pics really helps.

Went to my dealer to see if they had one in stock last week to get a better feel for it, but no luck.

I think the black one would look good any bike. Blend in a little more - look more factory I guess. Sometimes that's not the point, in which the chrome one is the way to go I suspect.

Thanks for the pictures AZ, does it adhere to the fairing? What would happen if your headlight went out? Can you remove it easily?

It's attached to the fairing and the headlight shield. I believe it all comes off together and you reach the lights behind the outer fairing, although I haven't removed it before. The chrome piece is permanently attached with 3M tape. I'm still waiting to see if it stays on in our extreme summer heat. So far so good.

I had to google it for the part number and order it through my dealer. It's not in the catalog.
