I always keep mind open but I flip it closed every once in a while just to keep it working good. I wonder if the type and style of windshield have a bearing on how well it works both open or closed......
I always keep it open because there is way less buffeting. I have closed it and found out that if I duck a little the buffeting goes away. A persons height probably is a major factor on how the vent performs open or closed.
While riding in some light rain in Arizona today it occurred to me I only remember to close the fairing vent when it is too late, i.e. the gauges are already wet. Is there any other reason one would close the vent? I can't feel any difference in wind whether it is open or closed.
I can't feel any difference either. If anything, I get more wind on me now than I did on my 07 Ultra Classic.
