Default Problem with talkback through headset

I upgraded my software to the latest and greatest. Now i have talkback through my headset and its annoying. I read something about a side tone setting but I do not know where to find that. Maybe someone could help. Thanks

That is the side tone you are referring to. Nothing you can do about it as far as I know.

Most people wanted it back, so they can hear themselves when they transmit . So they put it back in the in the last update. Some like it some don't. I do. Yes it's called side tone.

Are you saying that you hear the sidetone all the time even when you're not transmitting on the CB? If you are then your intercom is on and the VOX is turned all the way to maximum sensitivity.

Check and see if your intercom is on. I ran into that a while back on mine. Turned the intercom off and it went away.

No its only on when iam transmitting. So what I am hearing is you cant turn it off. It talks back even if you are on the phone I hate it why would anyone put this on and not allow it to be turned off.

The side tone is so the person transmitting knows their communication is being sent and is meant to be more natural (when you speak to someone in person, you hear yourself when speaking). I prefer the side tone because then I know if the PTT button is engaged enough to open the channel, and I know when the intercom is open and not just speaking into dead space.
