Can someone tell me if you can buy the Dunlop D408F and D407T tires that came stock on my Ultra anywhere besides the dealer. I've had good luck with these tires and would like a new set but I always buy elsewhere and install myself.


If you can't purchase without getting raked over the coals by the dealer, what tire would you folks recommend.

You can only get those from HD dealers, Dunlop does not distribute those to anyone else. If you want to stay with Dunlop the American Elite is basically the same tire and the one Duplop recommends as replacement. Its the tire my son recommends at his shop for those wanting a replacement and staying with Dunlops

You can get the above American Elites at Rocky Mountain ATV for ALOT less. Free shipping and no tax. I've been using them for years, FAST service, young tires.

You can get them from a lot of places a lot less than the price I listed, as mentioned in my response those were dealer list prices for reference not what they sell them for. My son sells them for much less than that as well.

I agree with you they are good tires I have been running them for a while as well but luckily I get them for as low as they can be gotten and no cost to me installs.

 

The tread pattern on the American Elites is a little different and to me anyway they seem not to follow road grooves as much like going over a metal drawbridge for example. They are good tires I have run them for years. The wear is good. The sidewalls are stiff so they don't wallow in the corners and they are not bad at all in the wet.
