J&m half helmet headsets?

Tanker2 - I don't have that exact set - but I promise you - if you try to wear these with a helmet, they will kill you. I've been down that road with others like this Even if you try to wear these without a helmet, eventually, you will have some difficulty.
My suggestion - go with the set like the J&M. I also asked what bike you rode because some of our bikes come with the Harley headset. That set, as someone mentioned, will actually fit into a half helmet - my wife also uses that.

I have a 2015 Limited Low. Yes they came with in the helmet headsets. I trade them for a set of behind the head headsets that I use now. Yes after awhile the make your ears sore. They don't work well with the vox. I just hate to spend the money on J&M and find out I don't like them either. That's the reason for the question. Thanks for your help.

Tanker2 - the J&M headsets will work well. I have used them and the Harley set. My opinion, both sets are equal - I can hear clearly on both.
Here is something to consider - look here in the for sale section. Find someone that doesn't use a helmet and is perhaps selling their headsets. You can usually get them for $50 - $60. Purchase the set, get the helmet packets and install them.
When I had my 2011, they came with Harley headsets. Wife got the J&M for her half helmet. When I got my 2014, it also came with headsets. Wife also got a new helmet. So, I left the J&M set in her old helmet and installed the new set in her new helmet. This is how/why I can compare apples to apples.

I have used J&M's half-helmet system for last 3 years and nearly 150k miles. I have had zero issues with it and can attest to its durability and quality. I like them so much that I bought one of the Nolan N-40 3/4 helmets from J&M with their system pre-installed. They have a new model for the half-helmet (HS-EHI787-HJH-XHO), but I have the one you are looking at (hs-icd284-hhu-ho) and am extremely happy with it and don't plan to get the newer one anytime soon.

I'm a manager at a pharma company. It's one of those jobs where you're always at work via telephone. Having to pull over to take a 30 second call sucks. With a headset I can answer and dial calls without ever getting off the bike. I've also grown accustomed to using it for the GPS. Why type in a destination when you can just say it? You miss out on some of the best features of Boom 6.5 if you're not using a headset.

Harley has a new half helmet set out now part number 76000730 looked at them this afternoon. No over the ear loop. Kind of a spring loaded loop holds them to your head. Looks like they would stop the ear pain. But waiting to see if others have tried them. And of course they have the blue tooth set, however won't work with the boom box. That was dumb of them.
