I sent an email to "Support" Yesterday. This is what they sent back:
Thank you for considering Custom Dynamics! The GEN2-TRI-FT-5 will be plug and play on a Canadian model '14 FLHXS! Even though your stock Tri-Bar is non-functioning; you do still have connector plugs, which we make use of in this installation. I've attached the installation instructions for your review. I can assure you the issue you described with the other product, shouldn't be an issue with ours! We do also offer a Lifetime Warranty against LED failure!
Let us know if you have any additional questions/concerns that we can help you with and thank you again for choosing Custom Dynamics!
1. Remove the hard saddlebags from the bike to allow access to the underside of the fender.
2. Remove the black cover on the back side of the tri-bar light and discard. Once removed, locate the clip just above the tri-bar that holds the wire harness in place. Remove the 7/16 nut then remove the clip from the harness. This allows easy removal of the wires from the tri-bar. Keep clip and nut handy for re-installation later.
3. Unplug the harness connectors from both sides of the tri-bar.
4. Remove the 2 Torx T25 screws that hold the stock tri-bar assembly in place. Remove the screws and save for installing the new unit.
6. Slowly pull the tri-bar away from the fender, making sure that the wiring and connectors are free as well. Once removed, discard.
7. Install the LED tri-bar into the fender, make sure everything is aligned, then fasten down with the T25 Torx screws saved from the old unit.
8. Plug the harness connectors into the new Tri-Bar, noting the rectangular ports on the back side of the unit. Left side should be going to the bike, the right side is the output to the turn signals. Make sure that the connector orientation is correct going into the ports, they are keyed one way, if the connector does not want to snap in, flip it around and try it again. Do not force the connector into the port. See page 2 for reference.
9. Re-install the Clip to the bike’s wiring harness, then re-attach the clip to the fender with the 7/16” nut.
10. Once products are installed, test the LED tri-bar light in running and brake modes.

I got the Custom Dynamics one from Dream Cycles in Ontario for $150 Cdn to my door. I had looked into buying a U.S. light and figuring out how to modify it but this was way cheaper. The light looks like a very well made product and installation took about 30 minutes. It could be done quicker but it was cold in the garage and I was careful to not break any plastic parts when removing them.

Hey RKC1965 I contacted Dream Cycles and was told they should have an order within 3to 4 weeks even though they are of stock they sent me a link so I could order one and now as soon as they get one it will be shipped. They are about $50 cheaper than ordering direct from CD.

+1 on Dreamcycles. For all fellow Canadians, their prices on all of the Custom Dynamics products are far better than ordering direct. Great service too. I spoke with Lise on the phone about some LED inserts that I couldn't find on their site. She looked them up and set me up with an order. Happy to support a Canadian supplier.
