Sadly that is about right for a total out the door price.
I have a friend with a 2012 FLHX under 20k miles in perfect condition completely 100% stock. He went to three dealers and was not offer over $11k trade for a 2016 Limited. This was last summer before the M8 was released.
He is still riding the 2012.
Try the M8 before buying. It may cost more but be worth it at least short term lower depreciation.

Doesn't seem to far off, including tax, prep, ect But i would ride the 16, then the 17 m8 to make sure, I think the dealers have a lot of 16's left over, so might be able to negotiate a little better deal, But like others have said, The deal that makes you happy, is the deal that count's, good luck

I like the deal. They're basically going halfers with you on a 5 year old motorcycle. M8 aside, you are still getting so much more with a 2016 - twin cooling, one touch, navi etc etc. Sure it will depreciate more in the next few years but that is why you're paying less today. And if this is a ten year bike for you, who cares about depreciation.
