Sorry if this had been covered before but I can't find anything via a search.

For thise running a solo seat, what have you done to pretty up the captive nut left in the rear fender?

Thanks!

You can get a fancy knurled thumb screw from your dealer or other outlets.

You can take the insert out of the fender. HD has a plastic plug with the bar & shield logo that snaps in.

I would think you could screw a flag into that hole, that would be cool, unless it was rainbow colored with a pink unicorn on it.. or anything Justin Bieber.

Use it to secure your solo luggage rack!

Ah. I didn't realise the insert can come out. How is it removed?

Insert is held on with a f clip if I remember correctly. I pulled mine off then covered the hole with the plastic plug from HD. Didn't like the black spot in the middle of my fender so I used touch up paint and painted it to match.

Hope that helps.

The nut insert is held in by a c clip. Get the bar & shield plug to replace it from your dealer.

I just leave the screw in it cause sometimes I use a Mustang pillion. Accidentally knocked that c-clip off the stock plug that the rear seat screws down to one time. It was a pain in the *** to get my arm up between the fender and the tire, hold that plug in place, and get that clip back on.
