So just to be clear, after doing all of this, and getting your waypoints set exactly on the route you want to take, the gps will not try to deviate from that correct?
It doesn't for me, no. It could lead to the Nav being fairly stubborn, wanting you to turn around if you miss a waypoint, though. In that case you simply skip that one and it will, litterally, get you back on track. That's why it's important to really set the wp right: setting it inside a field which is still recognized by the system will make it a somewhat bumpy ride
Also, is there a way to follow the same route in reverse?
You have reverse gear?? Would be a rather strange ride...
Just kidding! Yes, you can as has been mentioned above. Simply, once done with all the wp, click on "reverse route" (or similar) somewhere top left in the rideplanner.
Thanks valpal, I'll be sure to play around with the ride planners and such. I will never fully rely on it but it is nice to look at the gps, especially when you're interested in how much more time it will take to get somewhere or just for general trip tracking.
Yeah, that's what I like best about it as well, apart from it indeed clearly telling you where to go. My passenger likes that fact that she can see how long she has to endure more of my riding before she can catch a breath again LOL
I think people are forgetting to "Select All' when transferring the .GPX file to the file. I tested it and you don't get waypoints when you do that, only the most direct route. If you do that, GPS should not deviate from your customized route. I'm not sure what happens if you load the route and then select certain avoidances. I need to test that. To follow the route in reverse you will need to create a new route in route planner from your route. There is a button to reverse the route exactly the same way. Just do that and save it with a different name to route yourself home along your previous route.
