Default Anyone hear anything new about the upcoming Sena INC helmet?

I've been looking forward to seeing this new Intergrated Noise Control helmet Sena is releasing, but haven't seen anything new on it in a while. Has anyone?

The idea of active noise cancellation in a helmet is really cool, I've had various models of Bose headphones that are killer good on planes, (they even do amazingly well against the bane of air travel, screaming infants with ambivalent parents) - but that part is really more the isolation then the notice cancellation part.

I tried some in-ear Bose ones on the bike, but they aren't comfortable at all under a helmet. However they do work.

I think it'd be great in a helmet. Especially with the already good wind block of the glide's windshield.

I'm not sure how they could promote such a product that would isolate all noises from a rider. I really depend on all of my senses to keep me safe.

Active notice cancellation doesn't isolate, or stop sudden noises like horns, etc. It usually stops continuous, droaning noises like exhaust and wind. At 60+ mph, I don't hear much above the pipes and wind noise honestly. Take away the exhaust and wind and I'd actually hear other sound better in all likelihood.

My guess (and it's just a guess) is this helmet is going to cost more than a comparable similar helmet without the intelligent noise control. Since it's generally recommended by both Snell and the manufacturers to replace your helmet every five years due to helmet degradation, I don't think I'd want to pay a premium for this helmet when I can just wear either ear plugs or install speakers/communications system in the helmet. And yes I reckon many people feel replacing a helmet is probably both excessive and not required.

The helmet is called the Calvary and is on the Sena website for $349. It comes in either gloss or matte black.

There products do not impress me much more hype than of much difference than anything else that has been around. Their so call wire less head set is a joke.
Maybe they will come up with something new on the helmet.

Not quite. That's a half helmet. No noise reduction. At least not the kind they are talking about for the INC helmet. The noise reduction on the Calvary is just for the microphone - so the person you're taking to doesn't hear wind in the mic.

Still, looks like a cool half helm.
