10K Service complete $.02
Just finished my service and thought I would put this out there and hear some comments (I asked for it)!
Engine: Mobile 1 20W50
Trans: Mobile 1 75/145
Primary Formula +
I read several members use Mobile 1 20W50 for eng and trans so I figured I could top off the trans with that since it called for a few more ounces than a quart.
Previously ran Syn3, amsoil gear oil (recommended by dealer) and Rotella 15/40 primary (had new gallon given to me)
Results of change: Engine sounds quieter, slight ticking seems to be gone. Although I could shift the trans most of the time smoothly, I really feel a difference in smoothness now. Primary seems quieter.
This wasn't mean to be another oil thread, but I thought if anyone is running Mobil 1 in the engine and trans, it might save them from buying another $20 qt for a few ounces of trans fluid. I got a case of Mobil 1 eng oil from a sale Pep boys were having so I have extra. I don't feel putting a few ounces of 20W50 in with the 75/145 would dilute the trans fluid much.

When a riding buddy of mine heard the difference, he ordered 2 sets and we installed them in his softail and his girlfriends too. On hearing theirs, another riding acquaintance has decided to put em in. "This is no exaggeration" !!
For 15 bucks and a couple of hours of your time you can cure (at least substantially) the ticking and select your oil based on qualities other than "silence".
I've no interest in the Rockout guy's business but these suckers really work !
