Default Fairing speakers for 15 Road Glides

After I purchased my 2015 Road Glide Special, I upgraded the stereo by adding the 300 watt Harley Davidson amp and the Stage 2 fairing mounted speakers. Being a bit hard-of-hearing, I was unable to hear the factory stereo worth a damn. I updated to this setup in May of 2015. By July of 2015 one of my speakers had already blown out and was rattling away. It was replaced under warranty. This past weekend, the other speaker started doing the same thing - rattling when there is any bass - even at low volumes. My Harley dealer won't replace it for me since it is now out of warranty.

Needless to say, I'm pretty much done with the Stage 2 speakers. Have any of you tried the Road Glide 6.5 inch fairing mounted speakers from Hogtunes or J&M Rokker? The Hogtunes speakers are model # 362F-RM. The speakers from J&M are Rokker XXR 6.71". Any other speaker suggestions? With the Harley amp I need to stay with 2 ohm impedance. Thanks in advance from this HDForum newbie!

Welcome to the forum.

Take this question to the audio section and you'll get a wealth of information/suggestions.

Thumbnail version - HD and J&M are grossly overpriced for mediocre products.

There's a ton of information in that section of the forum.

I've got the Hogtunes speakers. They are 2 ohm and are rated up to 125 watts. As others have said, you can spend a little or spend alot; it's really a personal decision.
For me personally, I wasn't looking for symphony-level sound or to have the vehicle beside me hear my music. As long as I could hear the tunes at highway speed, I was good with that.
I even put Hogtunes in the lowers. They have them for Rushmore lowers.

I had j&m on my 15SGS. I am running Arc Audio in my 15RGS
I prefer the Arc Audio. Loud and clear.
JM had front and rear speakers with a 500 watt amp.
Arc Audio front speakers and a 600 watt amp with rear JL 7.7 speakers

You can't hear the stock stereo? I rarely ever have my volume over 3/4 and can hear it at 70mph without issue. Getting the proper height windshield makes a world of difference. I'm running stock exhaust though so i don't have to compensate for that.

Didn't care for the J&M Audio to pricey for sub par equipment. Biketronics if your willing to spend the $$..

Hertz 6.5 pro milles in fairing, hertz hcx 6X9s in lids powered by Arc audio moto 6, for a four speaker system it is plenty loud.
