Default Passenger backrest

Had a 2011 SG & bought a 2016 SGS back in Aug.On the 2011 I had the two point docking hardware & pass. backrest & it fit perfectly.Took that off of the 2011 & installed on the '16'(docking hardware).Just tried to put the pass.backrest on & it wont fit.The docking part is set to far apart on the 16.Anybody else have this problem?Did they change the backrest dimensions on the Rushmore bikes or change up the docking hardware?Anybody have a clue?

I have a 14 and bought a backrest for a 14, I have to physically pull it apart to get it to fit in the 4 pt mounting. I can get it to fit though.

The docking hardware changed for the Rushmore models, but the backrest should still fit. My 2011 Roadking backrest fits on my 2016 FLHTP.
On the Rushmore models you have to adjust the black plastic thingies by loosening the bolt and rotating the black plastic part until the detachables fit. They usually have enough adjustability for the detachable backrest to fit from too loose (it would rattle) to too tight (not fully lock on). I'm assuming the holes are drilled thru the black plastic part slightly off center to allow for the adjustment.

Don't forget to tighten the bolts back up after the adjustment is made. If they both worked out you could potentially loose your backrest. (and passenger)

I actually tried that.Removed the bolt going to the black plastic cylinder and was going to take the washer spacers out.It wouldn't budge.Cant put channel locks on it.Tried tapping it to break it loose, nothing.

I have a 2010 and a 2016 and what the others have stated is correct. The dockign hardware needs to be the new rushmore hardware. The backrest itself and tourpack mounts will work fine.
