How do you mount the seat shock? I know where it goes, but can't work out how to get the nuts on the bottom and tighten them, would the battery have to be lifted out?

Default Go Kong

Don't even bother with the stock airbladder or the mini shocker. Go to your local petshop and buy yourself a Kong dog toy. Gives you about 2" of smooth travel. Google it.

I'm already aware of that, thanks.

I actually have the same question. My seat will be here today, so I guess I'll find out. I'll post up some pics on how it mounts once I get it on.

Yep, take the battery out. Mine had bolts that threaded up into the shock, not nuts. I don't think it would have been possible without pulling the battery. Easy to do though, at least on my '16.

I have a bad back and need to sit straight up. I use the police seat with a Utopia backrest, which mounts under the seat pan. I bought an Airhawk pad to supplement it for the Cannonball ride I did, but found I didn't need it, gave it to a buddy

I got the seat, and it's on now. Just to confirm, the shock bolts on from underneath. It is possible to get it on without removing the battery, but it's much easier to pull the battery.

Here are some pics, the install is pretty straight forward.

Bolts go in from the bottom

Took it out for a short ride, and so far so good, just need to dial in the shock.

I have the seat off and am giving a go at vinyl repair. The first step is done, and it has to dry / cure for 4 hours before I put the color and texture on..

The vinyl repairs are done, it's not perfect, but way better then a slash.

I also mounted up my backrest. Had to do some cutting and grinding to both the mount and the plastic piece that goes under the seat.

Also had to turn the bracket around to get a better angle. Just need to sand and paint it now.

Filled and preped

Color and grain added
