Default Made some vent screen for my road glide

I wanted to add some vent screens to the glide, but thought the price they want for these is kinda ridiculous. So I bought a small sheet of sheet metal. With holes off of eBay.

Made a template and cut it, and the piece I bought. Was kind of thick and would not easily bend in place, once I got it in, it looked sloppy. So. I decided to go a different route with something a bit more flexible. Decided to cut up an old mesh trash can.

It took some trial and error to get it cut right, but they are inand I do like this look.

Anyhow, this was the first time I had the outer off, and I gotta say, harleydid good with the new ones, soooooooooo much better than the old models, fairly easy removal, and crazy simple installation in comparison. No more trying to hook thefront by the headlights.

Anyhow, here are some pics.

Looks nice, see you also added the .... can't remember the name over the headlamps. Brother has a 2000 CVO SE RG. I have helped him several times fighting to put his fairing back on.

Id rather bugs blow by than collect. I rarely get hit by bugs on top let alone the lower vents. They do look cool none the less.

Good work, but i also would spray them black.

I have vent screens (plastic) on the radiator in lowers and it is pretty easy to pop them off and clean them, something i find i have to clean now and then. Might get some type of detailing brush and then vac what you brush off of them.

Great work, and I like the idea of using the mesh trash can, now can you make one for the top vent?

BTW I like the silver finish.

I like the contrast with the silver, but not opposed to black, as I have added a few black parts to my ride.

Anyone have a pic of black screen inserts?

I like the silver look of the screen, matches the stripe in the middle of the fairing. How did you attach them?
