I'm local NY like you, I had my first services done by a dealer/Indy shop around here. After that I decided to buy a manual and do it myself, not very difficult. I take my time, do it step-by-step and I know it's done correctly. I had to buy a few tools to do the job right but now I have them. Just make sure you keep the receipts and I take pictures as I'm doing the work just in case...but that's me! Good Luck...BTW and only if you wish to share, who was the dealer that did your first service? Maybe a heads up for someone else...

Ok fellas !!! So this weekend I rode out to Long Island from bk then to Staten Island to see the fight. Half way in the belt parkway the bike felt super hot and felt sluggish it lost the 114 ***** ... got to my friends house and let the bike cool off by the time I went home the bike ran like a beast again by then it was cooler and the engine had cool off .. I took the oil cap to check my oil level it kinda smell burn .. any ideas ?????? Also I washed the bike and shine the bike ... I noticed that at the end of the night the primary case had some dust on it like white and black underneath .. don't know if that means anything ... I also noticed when I turn the bike on but don't crank the engine the check engine light and the oil light stay on until I crank the bike .. I remember those lights turning off before ...

Loss of power and heat are symptoms of sumping. There are threads about it in the M8 forum.

It's a Harley dealership and it has dealership "techs". That's two strikes right there!
