Another hint - I keep to downloads in my bike - the current and the previous. This way, they are available just in case.

 

Good there too. It's funny because I was keeping older versions and for some reason I got rid of them just a few weeks ago when cleaning up the laptop. My backups only go back a few weeks as well.

I did receive a call from Harley after setting up the on line appointment and they are intrigued after explaining to them so have a guys name and am heading down there shortly.

 

I have had a few cheap free usb drives that the system doesn't like and I get a similar message. It only likes the ones that I paid good money for. I'm not sure what the difference is but......

 

I know that is true because it happened to me a few updates ago. It scared the crap out of me that I had to stop the process. But then using a different and better one it started where it left off. This time I am using the good one I use with success and have used ever since. Crazy I know.

 

So last update and I have no idea what's going on. HD simply used the USB drive they have 1.20 loaded on and it worked fine! Not sure why since I am using the same one (and tried a new one) that has worked on all previous updates! Oh well, just glad it worked I guess. Thanks folks for all the ideas and thoughts. I appreciate the input.

 

I had that same problem with 1.19.2 and took it to HD and it worked just fine. I 'm not going through that again and will take mine to HD to have the latest installed.

 

Check the size of the USB stick. I think it needs to be 8GB or larger... The update is much smaller than that but it requires the extra for overhead.

 

Yup, that's why two have two thumb drives.
