Default Thoughts On This Trade

Thinking about pulling the trigger on the ever popular gray denim and black denim 2017 Ultra Limited. Local dealer wants roughly 15,500 OTD and my 12 Limited with 20k miles. Thoughts??

Sounds like a GREAT deal for HIM!
I'd definitely get a couple of other quotes. Then at least you can compare.
Best of luck!

I crunched all the numbers and dealer is giving you retail nada book value (13,500) on your trade plus the tax savings .I think you could do a lot better selling on your own especially if you got extras on bike .

My thoughts - this is your bike and you should make the call - whatever makes you happy.

I believe that whatever you pay for it, someone here will come back and tell you they got the same deal for $5000 less.

Dealers are being stingy on trades as there inventories are bursting they would rather you sell it out right then come back and if you insist on trading your gonna take a grubbing. I think it depends on how bad you want that 17.

Wait! Did I read this right? You're pulling the trigger on the dealer? Don't do that.

Don't pull the trigger on the dealer omg!!

Honestly it's not the best deal but I don't think it's bad either.. quite a few advancements over your 2012.

15500 for a new bike with warranty.. better suspension brakes motor. Questionable clutch (some love I don't). Very cool paint job.

Ask yourself this.. is the few hundred a month you are going to pay worth it??

Throw him a counter offer.. worse case scenario he says no.

My local dealer has taken a different route the last few years that has worked well for them. They want you to trade for a new bike because every new bike they sell ups their allocation of new bikes for the next year from Harley Davidson. So they REALLY want your trade and work good deals to sell the new bike. Not every customer can afford a new bike so if they have a good inventory of used bikes a customer that doesn't qualify for a new one, they steer him to a used bike and still make a sale. They make money selling your trade and the new bike. When the 17's came out they received two truck loads of new bikes before the other area dealers had received only one load. With that they always have a better inventory of new bikes. You can't sell if you don't have inventory.

So they aren't stingy with trades. They really want your trade. I would hold out for a better offer on your trade in from the dealer.
