Advan Black color matched extended saddlebags
#174
Just received my Advan stretched bags and fender extension in Blackened Cayenne. Color is close ,maybe ,slightly darker and some fine sanding marks on front facing surfaces. Molding is high quality very little flash. I spent thirty years in plastics industry so I know where to look for flaws. Mold parting lines are clean and not visible through paint work, no warping of the plastic on bags or extension. All signs of fairly new or well cared for molds. Overall very happy with quality ,pre drilled holes are clean. I also got the skid plates and they threw in a set of their bag retention *****, nice little perk. I should mention that I'm eventually going to a custom paint job so my first priority was quality of parts with paint being second. The paint is nice and close in color so I should be fine for now and saved quite a bit of money over buying bags and having a local shop paint them with Harley paint. I'll report back when I get a chance to install them.

Got my lids moved to new bags pretty easy. Advan sends grommets for sides but after struggling with them for ten minutes I just pulled the ones out of original bags and they popped right in. The Advan grommets don't have a large enough gap to install easily. First lid fit perfectly no adjustment needed. Second one I needed to loosen hinge screws to get a proper close. In the sun color match is better than I previously thought, however, it looks like the factory color has slightly larger metal flake. Not a deal breaker but note worthy. My spare time had run out so looks like I'll do a test fit tomorrow. And hopefully I'll get to the fender extension this weekend.
