RC 4.0s sound funny
I have the RC Components 4.0 slash up slip-ons with a FullSac DX header. When first installed the RC's, they sounded good and I assumed they would get a little deeper as they broke in. Now at about 3K, they sound tinny. Seems like a higher pitch, tinny sound when I roll on it. Anyone have this experience or are these still breaking in?

I have RC Powermax headers and RC 4" mufflers on a '14 Ltd. I've not had an issue with the sound or performance. I have had an issue with the baffles in one muffler not staying firmly seated, and rattling inside the muffler. That was solved by pulling out the baffle and flaring the end that fits against the cone shape of the muffler where it joins the header.
That was as close to a"tinny" sound I had, and that was fixable.

I have the 4" slash downs. Have had them since I bought the '14. I was about to give them the boot as the note coming from them during highway cruising was annoying to me YMMV. Decided to give them one more chance after the V&H power duals install and it's helped them tremendously. Still not as nice sounding as my V&H HO slips, but I prefer a deep rumble to the ear-splitting crack of some smaller baffle pipes.
Will probably still switch to V&H slips again in the future but for now the new headers have placed a stay of execution on the RCX.
