Taiddan Garage Door Opener
Been tired of fumbling with my garage door opener every time I get home. Guess I'm impatient when I know there's got to be a quicker solution.
I could not bring myself to spend $140 for the Harley brand opener...way too much $$ IMO.
Found this Taiddan Harley opener on eBay for ~$55 shipped. It only took 3 days to get here and the instructions were great overall. Works by flicking the high beam switch. Just remove the headlight (4 screws total) and hook things up.
Just one little change for '14 and up Harley's with the new style headlights. Instructions talk abut 2 and 3 prong headlight plugs...mine had a 4 prong plug. Using a volt meter I figured out which wire activates the high beam circuit. For those who'd rather not figure it out for fear of messing things up or if you don't own a volt meter here's a pic.
1st wire you hook to is the ground (black) in spot #1 and the next is the high beam power (blue with white stripe) in spot #3.
Took ~30 mins from start to finish including hooking up the transceiver box to my garage opener unit. Would have gone quicker but I double and triple check things as I go along to make sure nothing got messed up from one step to another.
Overall this is one of the best mods I've ever done from a convenience standpoint.

That looks pretty sweet! I was looking at a different one last night but that required an external button. I couldn't get myself you buy the HD one either, just too expensive! Is this the one you are talking about? Does the box that goes in the garage have a cover?
