Read your reviews and found them very informative and helpful. Since I am 5'9" and had my seat modified by MCC to lower me about an inch or so I will probably go with a Freedom 11".
What is your opinion on my thoughts?

Sounds like the 11 would be the better choice. My seat is stock and with the 12 inch shield and at 5'10 I easily see over it. I also like the darker tint so seeing over it easily is even more important in that case.
Id give John a call at freedom shields. He is always willing to talks through fitment. Aside from the cost of shipping, returns are free- no restocking fee. you can mount a shield to your bike and see which one is best and Send the other back. Just make sure you leave the protective coating on them.
