CB Radio Upgrade Kit
I have a 2014 Ultra Limited - my CB works fine but like a number of you, the distance (both ways) is somewhat short.
Has anyone here tried the CB kit from J&M - and does it make a difference?

Have you tuned the SWR yet!
If not, try that before spending $$$$ on a new antenna.
Very carefully fine tuning the antenna length to get the lowest SWR ratio on the channel you intend to use most will result in much improvement in Tx range
I have tuned many for myself and friends.
It is absolutely ridiculous how high the SWR is on some of the bikes I've checked.
One would think the bike manufacturers could do a better job of matching antennas to the CB's!

Stock Antennas are not tunable. One of our local RF "experts" and he really is swears the short Harley antenna is tuned better and puts out better the stock antenna. From listening to many other riders I believe it also. The other thing to check is the ground connection in your tour pack.

One of my local RF guys say the same thing - so, I have already gone to the short antenna.
Prostar - you mentioned the ground - and that is exactly what the CBAU 0 HB14 is suppose to do. The language in the kit talks about how the Harley is ground (or lack thereof).
While the install looks easy, I decided to have it installed by Sierra Electronics. They, in my opinion, is one of the best places for motorcycle radio accessory products.

You might want to read this thread before you spend your money, if you are in fact satisfied with the performance. At over $100, it isn't exactly chump change.

That's been my observation anyway.

But I don't know, the transmit range on the Harley CB radios has always been awful. That's been my observation anyway.
