I bought my first Harley in 1971, a sportster, had Super Glides,Electra Glides..went thru the AMF Harley years, learned to use Chevy points in the distributor, the oil leakers, kick starters.etc, breaking down all the time,.we always had to work on them, but through it all we loved our Harley's back then and they weren't cheap then either..now we have Rushmores..now we're spoiled, I love to ride my Rushmore ,never worry about breaking down, great gas mileage ..lots of Debbie Downers always complaining..but like everyone else I've learned a lot thru this forum and very happy where Harley is today.

Guys, I know I won't stop the complaining, that's not what I'm trying to do here, it's inevitable. I just wanted to post some positive comments about the Rushmore's for future buyers to see. Page one alone has 5 threads with complaints. I just wanted to put some posts up that were positive, and about the quality and improvements that HD has given us. Failures happen, things break, it happens to all man made machines.

I've learned allot from this Forum too. Things that I would have never known if it wasn't for HD Forum.

Thanks HD, and thanks HD Forum's.

Any of you guys actually got one with miles on it?

They are really just an Electra Glide with water cooled heads.

People like it is something from the future.

Had a 98 Road King for 12 years, no major issues. 16 SGS...have put 3000 miles on it with no issues...but compensator noise after 1000 mile oil change. SYN 3 in primary was the cause...changed back to Formula + and no noise. Bike runs great, very happy...Harley forever....like a new model car, wait a few years and they work the bugs out...like the forum for ideas, infos, and similar problems. Forum identified compensator noise after dealer said syn3 would not cause that. Syn3 gets very thin when hot...wish dealer read some forums...

Rushmore does not equal water cooled heads.

All of the 2014 and up touring bikes from HD are "Project Rushmore".
But not all of them have the "twin cooled" engine (water cooled heads).

Street Glide, Road Glide, Road King, Ultra Classic are still Rushmore bikes.

I know '15 Ultra Limited is still new, but just over 12,000 miles and not a single cooling issue.

I like hearing about some of the problems, gives me a heads up, and I know what's going on when something happens, I've had a water pump, and a left switch pack go out in 30,000 miles on my 14, and new the problem's when they occurred, complaining, no, information yes, Out of warranty, and still covered by Harley, best HD I've owned as far as ride. And handling. Tnx HD

Traded for my '15 Limited, 11 months ago and it just rolled over 13,000 miles this afternoon. Have not had the first issue with it........The only problem I have had is not enough time to ride as much as I'd like. This has bike is my seventh Harley in 20 years and has been the best Harley I have ever owned.

Everything about my Rushmore is superior to my 06 that I traded. That said, I have had some issues early on with the bike, but all eventually was fixed under warranty. Any of my negatives are with the dealers and how they handled things, not with the bike, it's an awesome machine.
