Default How to quiet rinehart 4"

I scored a set of used 4" rinehart a pretty cheap. Love the sound and tone. They are Just a little loud. I managed to take the baffles out.

Would wrapping them in exhaust insulation take the edge off the volume ?

Ear plugs. Seriously. I always ride with them and really like the sound.

Yes, re-wrapping them will tone them down a bit.

They were a little too loud so you removed the baffles?

I hope he means, he removed them to wrap them, in hopes of quieting them down. Not he was running the Rinehart's with no baffles.

Yes I remove the baffles so I can wrap them, which I did and seems to have worked quite well. Took away just enough of the edge. Very happy with them now!

I bet your neighbors would disagree.

I never understood riding with ear plugs because you have loud *** pipes.

Riding with ear plugs with reasonable pipes is completely different and that is not what I am talking about.

Loud pipes are for cagers to hear you, ear plugs are mostly used to quiet the noise from the passenger seat...LOL

I have used wood stove gasket rope in the past, it lasts much longer than baffle wrap, or so it seemed to for me. wrap rope around baffle then wrap with mechanics wire to secure.

Hard Kore Quiet Baffles from Smartpartz

I use 'em with my V&H Monster Rounds and really like the sound. A lot quieter at idle and cruise but still has a nice bark under throttle. Not sure if your specific exhaust is there but you can always call (they take a day or so to get back to you).
