I'm considering changing to Ohlins STX36 Blackline or the HD Premiums on the RK.
Not sure which to go for has anyone tried the STX36?
Regards
Steve
All 36mm Ohlins branded shocks are STX36. The blackline is many of the same 36mm HD shocks which I have been building for years. Many Blackline model shocks are a different featured shock but not all. Roughly 1/2 of the silver HD shocks are the same. I have just about taken all of the new Blackline shocks apart and made them for a different HD model such as a Sportster shock made for a FLT or Dyna.
There is a big difference between a so called "HD Premiums" and any Ohlins HD shock. No comparison. The difference is you must set the Ohlins up and tune them for your personal use and the HD Premium it is not necessary as they will provide basically the same ride no matter what.
I put a set of 772's on my '15 Ultra Limited and FKS226 carts on the front and simply love them. It like I can feel contact with the road without having a harsh, hard ride. It does take some time to dial in for your riding, weight, etc. but even out of the box the difference was amazing. Not cheap but worth it, IMO.
