Hhm, I do have my two HD FOBs hang next to each other. The bikes are, hopefully, far away enough, especially since there is a big concrete steel wall in between. Anybody have any experience with two FOBs being stored next to each other? Who would keep FOB#1 at the entrance and FOB#2 on the opposite side of the house?! Do I need to now store them in a custom-built aluminum pouch??

 

I just checked my owners manual, 2014 pg 110 and it says not to ride with the FOB in a metal case or with the FOB closer than 3 inches to a cell phone, PDA, display or other electronic device. The electromagnetic field may prevent the fob from disarming the security system. No mention of wearing the battery down.

Never had a problem, usually have cell in one front pocket and FOB in other front pocket. I know for sure that has to be eight inches apart.

 

I'll have to look again maybe I read it wrong. It was about a year ago when I seen it in the manual.

 

I just went and had a look at my manual. I see what I had mixed up. A couple pages after the note about interference from cell phones etc. there is another note about not leaving the fob close to a computer monitor or it will drain the battery. Over time my brain must have blurred the two notes into one. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it. )
