Default Jerky throttle advance

I've noticed, at least recently, that the throttle doesn't advance smoothly but moves in small jerky motions. It seems to stick, move, stick, move, etc. Anyone have a problem like this and, hopefully, a solution? 2016 RGS.
Thanks.

Sometimes, people lift the bike using the right hand grip and cause it to pull away from the sensor. If it pulls far away You can't accelerate. There should be a little play when pushing grip toward switch housing.About 1/4 inch.If more ,take switch housing loose and adjust.

Ensure the throttle grip (lip) is centered between the clam shell.

You can also add a wee bit of lithium grease to the lip.

I should have said that the dealer adjusted the end play of the grip and the grip seems to be not binding. I seems like whatever the grip is turning is binding. I may spray a little 303 on the rubber going into the metal housing to see if that does anything.

My 2016 SGS is doing the same. Have not had time to look at it yet,but I think the problem could be at the throttle grip end at the switch housing or a dry handlebar which will be a lubrication fix.I have not heard of any TBW units binding and causing this throttle stiction problem or as I refer to it as a notchey throttle.

Oh, I hope that you're right. If it needs lube and then works properly that would be great. The notchiness of the throttle is VERY annoying.

IT DOES not need lube to fix...the inside of the end of the grip mates up to the twist sensor like two gears meshing up...the twist sensor slides into the end of the handel bar and rests in two notches that keep it from spinning...the only place for any binding would be the mating area of the housing and the grip end...id check this....ive changed bars 5 times and had this apart at least that many times its a very simple set up......the TBW does take some getting used to i think....takes practice not to be choppy at starts...

So the throttle by wire is, by nature, not smooth? Disappointing. I will check the grip housing area but everything in that area seems loose. I really appreciate the info about this problem.

Thanks.
my 2016 RGS is exactly the same. Throttle is not "smooth and slick" - it binds in small movements. It doesn't matter how you hold the throttle, it just does it..
