Klock Werks sport flare review

The seat in the pics I took is a Danny Gray Weekender airhawk 2 up. I love it. It sits me down and back compared to the long haul. I was able to salvage the seat from my totaled bike, and I'm glad I did. I've put 6,000 miles on that seat and I still love it. It looks great and rides comfortably.

Which seat? The sig pic is a Danny Gray Weekday long haul 2 up. I didn't like it very much. It sat me a little forward and up a little compared to my previous seat, so I sold it.

I can't tell you how it compares to stock, as both my totaled Street Glide and my newer Road Glide had aftermarket seats, so I can't say what it does compared to stock. I only know compared to each other.

5'9”
I'm 5' 9”. I like the dark smoke color but I'm concerned about visibility going up a hill with the taller 14” shield. Does anyone have the 9” shield and is around my height? What do you think about the viability in all conditions? I don't want to have to look through it.

I have a 9". It's barely an inch taller and about the same darkness as the stock shield. You'll be fine up hills.

I bought a 14" for longer trips. It puts the wind over my head. The radio is much better with it. I can see fine over it. It is about chin high with my stock seat. I noticed that going into my dark garage up my steep driveway I couldn't see for a second. Then I noticed the same thing with my Silverado pickup and with the 9" Klockwerks on my Roadglide. My garage is kept fairly neat so I'm not worried about hitting anything, and it's only a split second before things level out enough to see fine again.
I think you'd be fine with the 14". Even though it's dark smoke you can see through it if need be. It would take a mighty steep hill to present a problem seeing over it, but you could still see through it in that rare occurrence.

Thank you
I'm not much taller than you. I have both a 9" and a 14", both in dark smoke. The 9" isn't bad, I get the wind above my eyes on my forehead. It doesn't rattle my glasses and I will use it for around town and day trips. I did a one hundred mile round trip last week and it was okay at 85 m.p.h. I wouldn't want to use it on a 3000 mile trip though. It's only about an inch taller that the stocker on my Roadglide Special, so you'd never need to look through it, and the flare really works to put the wind up higher than the stocker. I don't always wear a helmet but my little half helmet isn't affected by the wind with the 9". If you always wear a helmet it might be great.

I got the 9" because I know I'll be able to look over it.
So do you have an Ultra with a really thick seat, making you sit up higher, or do you have a low profile seat? KW has a 12” screen but the tint is lighter, so if the 9" didn't work I have to decide to go for the 12 or 14".

My bike is a Roadglide Special, not the Ultra. I have the stock seat. I have the 14" on my bike right now and I see over it fine. It looks great and I plan to use it for a 3000 mile trip this summer. I do notice a slight vibration in it at 2000rpm. The vibration is gone by 2200 rpm and is not annoying to me. Bottom line, it looks great, I see over it comfortably, and it puts the wind over my head! That's what I was after.
If I'm not mistaken the 12" Klockwerks is not the Sport Flair, and is more vertical. It might actually be as tall or taller than the 14" Sport flair because the Sport Flair angles back toward you.. I think they call it Pro touring. Those supposedly offer even more protection at the expense of style.
Maybe this will give you an idea as to seeing over the 14". The top of the 14" Sport Flair is right at 4" above the top of the vent on the fairing. It sits in toward you about an inch and a half. I always have the vents open and both windshields work great for me.
